GKN Aerospace Portsmouth machine reliability improvement involved a series of integrated Workstreams that looked at people, systems, and machines.
The integrated top-down, bottom up approach, managed via daily drumbeats, phased/gated approach and intense coaching, helped increase awareness, keep momentum and unlock people's potential to resolve issues quickly.
It helped create belief in the system and confidence of the shopfloor operators, supervisors, and leaders. Working as an integrated well-oiled machine, with a can-do attitude, they not only managed to keep improvements in place but replicate learnings in different areas of the business.
